Torquepower occasionally disassembles used Cummins engines to recover major engine components like cylinder blocks or crankshafts for use in other applications, for jobs in hand or simply for available spare part replacements in the future. As a result we always have a range of good quality used parts and assemblies for those times where the cost of a new part cannot be justified. Sometimes we buy retired engines for that very purpose. At other times we disassemble engines that have been traded on brand new engines by our Sales Department.
Using checked and verified second-hand components is a way of saving money on your engine repairs as the effective service life of many used parts like oil pans, flywheel housings, gear covers, pulleys etc may likely be no different from that offered by the more expensive new component.
Not all second hand parts represent good value however, especially when the part is in the form of an assembly which cannot be thoroughly checked without dismantling. This would include vibration dampers as a good example. In those cases reconditioned, remanufactured or new items may be better options.
Good used items can certainly save your repair costs when they are available. You can expect to save 50-75% by using checked used items in your repair.
So give us a call whenever you need Cummins used parts.
