New Cummins heart for a Port of Brisbane workhorse

Forklifts aren’t a passion purchase like trucks, but they sure make life easier, especially at the Port of Brisbane, one of Australia’s fastest growing container ports & Queensland’s largest general cargo port located at the mouth of the Brisbane River. Advanced Maintenance Management at Gateway Park, had Torquepower rebuild a Cummins QSB5.9C for a Hyster container lift fork truck engine after it was “dusted” (where contamination has circulated through the engine and oil).

Operations Manager Karl said “ I prefer Hysters, they are really tough machines, but when they breathing in dirt they don’t go so well. The machines do work in a tough environment, this site is off-port in Hemmant, so its rough terrain work stacking containers. My maintenance crew service the forklifts; in just one yard there are 7 units, and I manage multiple yards so it’s always busy.”

“Once the Hyster started using oil , I knew all was not well. We took the engine into Torquepower. They rebuilt it, and it was delivered back to me about half an hour ago.The communication process was good and Justin kept in touch. It’s all gone well. Torquepower has been doing my engine work for years. “ https://www.torquepower.com.au/workshop-service/ Cummins specialists.
