state of origin competition winner
NSW took victory in the Origin-opener in a barnstorm of an Origin game at Suncorp Stadium, and so did lucky entrant Michael from Carole Park. Michael went against the tide to tip NSW for the win with our closest entry. Just 18, Delivery Driver Michael is excited to head off to watch Game 3 live at Suncorp.
When we called Noel from Rosewood to congratulate him on predicting perfectly the Game 2 win by the Maroons, he hadn’t yet seen the game ! Driving between Broken Hill and Adelaide in his Kenworth K104, he was parked at a power station in Hallett almost 200km north of Adelaide on the Barrier Highway to Broken Hill.
Noel tipped an 18-16 win for Queensland with the maroon team being first and also last team to score. He will be back on Monday for a photo and to pick up his winning tickets, and is committed to being in town for Origin Game 3, Wednesday 12th July. It is predicted to become the biggest and most-watched rugby league match in history; an Origin decider, at Suncorp Stadium, with Queensland Champion Jonathan Thurston playing his last ever match in those famous Maroon Queensland colours.
